I have also seen situations where a buyer focused too much on the vehicle price and not enough on the details that really determine whether a vehicle is right for them.<\/p>\n<p>I am Yuichiro Watabe, President and CEO of EVERY TRADING Co., Ltd. Check Whether the Vehicle Is Right for Your Actual Purpose<\/h2>\n<p>The first question should not be, \u201cIs this vehicle cheap?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It should be, \u201cIs this the right vehicle for what I need to do?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This sounds simple, but it is one of the most important lessons I have learned from working with overseas customers.<\/p>\n<p>For example, two trucks may look similar in photographs, but their payload, body dimensions, engine, transmission, drivetrain, and specifications can be very different. A truck for city deliveries has different requirements from one that will carry heavy loads on rough roads.<\/p>\n<p>The same applies to buses, tractors, machinery, SUVs, vans, and passenger cars.<\/p>\n<p>Before buying, think clearly about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What the vehicle will be used for<\/li>\n<li>Typical road and working conditions<\/li>\n<li>Required passenger or load capacity<\/li>\n<li>2WD or 4WD requirements<\/li>\n<li>Fuel type<\/li>\n<li>Transmission preference<\/li>\n<li>Availability of maintenance and parts in your country<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When searching for commercial vehicles, you can compare our current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everycar.jp\/used-cars.php?type=Truck\">Japanese Used Trucks for Sale<\/a> to understand the range of specifications available in Japan.<\/p>\n<h2>2. For a farm tractor or machine, horsepower, operating hours, attachments, and working specifications may be more important than appearance.<\/p>\n<p>One thing I always recommend is this: if an important specification is unclear, ask before you buy.<\/p>\n<p>It is much easier to confirm a detail while the vehicle is still in Japan than to discover a misunderstanding after it arrives in your country.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Check the Vehicle Condition Carefully<\/h2>\n<p>A used vehicle is a used vehicle. Buyers should approach it differently from a new vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>That does not mean Japanese used vehicles are unreliable. Japan offers many well-maintained vehicles with strong remaining working life. But condition varies from unit to unit, and age or mileage alone does not tell the complete story.<\/p>\n<p>Look carefully at the available exterior and interior photographs and the condition information provided for the specific unit.<\/p>\n<p>For commercial vehicles and machinery, I also think buyers should focus on the parts that matter for the intended work.<\/p>\n<p>A small cosmetic mark may have little importance for a working truck. On the other hand, the wrong body specification or an unsuitable drivetrain can have a major impact on the buyer&#8217;s business.<\/p>\n<p>This is why we try to look beyond appearance. The objective is not simply to find a vehicle that looks good in a photograph. It is to find a vehicle that makes sense for the customer&#8217;s actual use.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Check Your Country&#8217;s Import Requirements Before Buying<\/h2>\n<p>This is one of the most important checks for any overseas buyer.<\/p>\n<p>A vehicle being available for export from Japan does not automatically mean that it can be imported and registered in every country.<\/p>\n<p>Import requirements vary by destination and can also vary by vehicle category.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the country and vehicle, buyers may need to confirm matters such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vehicle age or first-registration restrictions<\/li>\n<li>Required inspections<\/li>\n<li>Emissions requirements<\/li>\n<li>Right-hand-drive or left-hand-drive rules<\/li>\n<li>Import permits<\/li>\n<li>Customs duties and taxes<\/li>\n<li>Registration requirements<\/li>\n<li>Rules for commercial vehicles or machinery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These requirements can change, so I do not recommend relying only on information from an old purchase or an old internet article.<\/p>\n<p>Confirm the latest requirements with the relevant authority or a qualified customs or clearing professional in your country before committing to the vehicle.<\/p>\n<h2>5. Check the Total Cost and Buying Process<\/h2>\n<p>Finally, do not judge a vehicle only by the price displayed online.<\/p>\n<p>International vehicle purchasing involves more than the vehicle price.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the quotation and destination, you may need to consider ocean freight, insurance, inspection costs, import duties, taxes, customs clearance, port charges, inland transportation, registration, and other local expenses.<\/p>\n<p>You should also understand exactly what is included in your quotation.<\/p>\n<p>For example, FOB, C&amp;F and CIF are not the same thing.<\/p>\n<p>Before making payment, check the Pro-forma Invoice carefully.
