January 14th, SUZUKI Motors released the news that SUZUKI developed a transmission of a new design, named "Auto Gear Shift". It is neither an automatic nor a manual transmission. They said it was adopted strong points of both transmissions. What does it mean?
According to SUZUKI Motors, The new transmission "Auto Gear Shift" is the 5-speed manual transmission with an electrical hydraulic actuator that can control a crutch & a shift automatically. That means, you can drive an manual transmission without operate a clutch pedal & a shift!!
They said the fuel consumption of the Auto Gear Shift is equal with a manual transmission, but you don't need operate a clutch & a shift to changing gears, and it also can creeps like an automatic transmission. Hmm, it sounds perfect...
SUZUKI motors is going to show a new design car that has this transmission at Delhi Auto Expo in India next month.
