TOYOTA HIACE VAN
The Toyota Hiace has been produced since 1967, and the Van version has developed into a versatile commercial vehicle with many configurations. See also: Toyota Hiace Van generations and model guide. Japanese used stock includes vehicles from several generations, so buyers can choose from different body sizes, engines, drivetrains, transmissions, and cargo-oriented layouts.
The fifth-generation H200 series, introduced in 2004, is particularly common in the Japanese used market. Earlier H200 diesel models include KDH-series vehicles such as KDH201V and KDH206V, equipped with the 3.0-liter 1KD-FTV engine. See also: Toyota Hiace Van KDH201V and KDH206V guide and Toyota Hiace Van LDF-KDH206V. KDH201V is a 2WD model, while KDH206V is a 4WD model. Later versions adopted the 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV diesel engine, while gasoline configurations have included the 2.0-liter 1TR-FE and 2.7-liter 2TR-FE, depending on year and specification.
Body configuration is another important consideration. Toyota has offered long and super-long bodies, standard and wide widths, and different roof heights. DX models are commonly configured for practical commercial use, while Super GL versions combine cargo capability with additional interior equipment. Toyota has also produced specialized Hiace-based commercial vehicles such as refrigerated, cooling, insulated, and lift-equipped vans.
When selecting a used Toyota Hiace Van, check the complete model code rather than relying only on the Hiace name. Confirm the engine, fuel type, 2WD or 4WD drivetrain, transmission, body dimensions, roof height, seating capacity, cargo area, and maximum carrying capacity for the individual vehicle. For specialized vans, check the specifications and condition of the installed equipment as well.
