TOYOTA LAND CRUISER 200
The Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series was launched in Japan in September 2007 as the successor to the 100 Series. See also: history of the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series. Toyota retained a separate frame construction while increasing frame rigidity and developing the vehicle for both off-road capability and comfortable highway travel.
Early Japanese-market models used the UZJ200W model code and the 4.7-liter 2UZ-FE V8 gasoline engine. Toyota paired this engine with a five-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. In 2009, the Japanese lineup changed to the URJ202W, powered by the 4.6-liter 1UR-FE V8 gasoline engine. See also: Toyota Land Cruiser 200 URJ202W and 1UR-FE engine. Later Japanese specifications used a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 200 Series also introduced technology aimed specifically at difficult terrain. Crawl Control was fitted from the model's Japanese launch to help maintain a very low vehicle speed on surfaces such as rocks, sand, and steep slopes. Depending on grade and production year, used vehicles may also include systems such as KDSS, Multi-terrain Select, and Multi-terrain Monitor.
Grades found in Japanese used stock include AX, AX G Selection, and ZX, while seating and equipment vary by specification and year. For example, Toyota's 2015 Japanese lineup listed five seats for GX and eight seats for AX and ZX.
When comparing used Land Cruiser 200 vehicles, buyers should check the exact model code, engine, registration year, seating capacity, transmission, maintenance history, underbody condition, and fitted off-road equipment. This is particularly important because specifications changed during the model's long production period. See also: Toyota Land Cruiser 200 updates.
