TOYOTA TOYOACE
The Toyota Toyoace has a long history in Japan, beginning in 1954. See also: Toyota Toyoace and Dyna model history. Over its production life, it evolved through several generations and became closely related to the Toyota Dyna. Toyota eventually discontinued the Toyoace name, making Japanese used-vehicle stock the main source for buyers specifically searching for this model.
One reason to compare Toyoace trucks carefully is the variety within the range. Different generations covered multiple commercial weight classes and were offered with different wheelbases, cab layouts, engines, transmissions, and body configurations. Flatbed trucks are common for general cargo and agricultural supplies, while dump bodies can serve construction and landscaping work. Route vans and other enclosed bodies are useful for delivery operations, and double-cab versions provide additional seating where required.
Engine and chassis combinations also differ substantially by production period. Examples found in Japanese used vehicles include LY-series models with Toyota’s 3L diesel engine, RZY-series models with the 1RZ gasoline engine, TRY-series models with the 1TR engine, and XZU-series vehicles using Hino diesel engines such as the S05C and S05D. See also: Toyota Toyoace XZU307V with S05C engine and Toyota Toyoace LY211 with 3L diesel engine. Later 2-ton Toyoace models were also produced with the 4.0-liter N04C diesel engine. These examples should not be treated as universal specifications because engine, drivetrain, transmission, and payload depend on the individual model and year.
When selecting a used Toyota Toyoace, check the complete model code, engine model, fuel type, transmission, drivetrain, maximum carrying capacity, wheelbase, cab configuration, and body dimensions. Specialized equipment such as dump mechanisms, cranes, power gates, or refrigerated bodies should be inspected as part of the vehicle comparison.
