First generation LV series
Production began in 1988 as a North American-only vehicle, with sales in Japan starting in 1990.
Second generation LW-series
The second-generation MPV was completely redesigned in June 1999. It was reborn with a stylish design and full-time 4WD based on the front-wheel drive system.
It is equipped with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder in-line engine and a 2.5-litre V6 engine.
The second generation enjoyed explosive popularity and the MPV became Mazda's flagship minivan.
Third generation LY-series
The MPV underwent a complete model change in 2006.
The overall length and width were greater than the second generation MPV, while the height was lower, giving it a wide and low stance, making it an even sportier minivan. Highly dynamic and manoeuvrable, the next-generation people mover revolutionised the minivan with the idea of a sports car, adding to the fun of driving.
Many MPVs are exported every month to Tanzania, Uganda and the Caribbean.
