On August 18, 2021, Nissan Motor announced the new "Z" (Japanese name "Fairlady Z") in New York, USA.
The Fairlady Z is a Nissan traditional sports car that appeared in 1969 and has sold more than 1.8 million units globally. It is one of the best-selling sports cars in the world. This new model is the 7th generation model, and in September 2020, the "Nissan Fairlady Z Prototype" that suggests the new design and some specifications was unveiled, and this time, the new Z with US specifications will be officially announced. It became a thing.
There are two grades, "Sports" and "Performance", each with a 6-speed MT specification and a 9-speed AT specification. In addition to this, a limited model "Protospec" with 240 units is also available. It features a special yellow brake caliper (with the "Z" logo), bronze-colored aluminum wheels, genuine leather seats with yellow accents, and yellow interior stitching.
Nissan has announced that it will launch the new Z in the United States in the spring of 2022. On the other hand, the new Fairlady Z with Japanese specifications is scheduled to be announced in the winter of 2021.
