The world premiere with Silvy's EV, which was unveiled at the Nissan booth of the Beijing Motor Show 2018, is "Tera". It is not "Terrano" which was once sold in Japan but "Tera".
It is not only the name that is similar. Terrano is a derivative model of pickup truck based on "Datsun truck", it is a structure combining a strong frame instead of a passenger car base monocoque body. Tera is also a frame structure SUV made on the basis of pickup truck "Navarre" which is the successor model of Datsun truck.
Tera is a car based on Nissan's strong SUV tradition, which has the high rough road performance of the frame car reflecting the needs of Asian customers. And it was designed on the premise that police and military will use it, drawing blood of "Patrol (Japan name: safari)" which is a tough off-road icon.
It is scheduled to be sold in Southeast Asia region starting from China, but in those locations there is a need for a rugged full-fledged four-wheel drive car that can run on the extreme road surface.
